Row House®  Opens at EVF Columbus Circle.... Don’t Miss the Boat!

4 March 2014, New York, NY — One of Manhattan’s most distinctive fitness studios is adding a sleek new location and introducing its signature workout brand to New York City. The newest EVF Performance opens on Friday, March 7 in midtown’s Columbus Circle area, and will feature the debut of Row House, an exciting and innovative new range of full-body workouts designed for busy urbanites who are looking for fun, community and a healthy, intense workout. Instructor and national fitness spokesperson Eric Von Frohlich has designed his cutting-edge workouts around erg rowing machines and floor mats. The Row House program builds on the rhythmic, low-impact, high-intensity of rowing, and folds in techniques such as interval training and muscle confusion to bring the workout to an entirely new level. Add great music and a friendly group dynamic and it’s not hard to see why former spinning enthusiasts are looking to Row House to re-invigorate and re-inspire them. Three different 50-minute classes are available at Row House to sculpt bodies, torch away calories, reduce stress and support mental clarity. Eric and his wife Debra are thrilled to be opening their second location, following the success of the acclaimed EVF Performance space on the Upper East Side and their pop-up location in East Hampton last summer. But as the designers and pioneers of this groundbreaking new approach to health and fitness, they are particularly proud to be introducing Row House. Their Columbus Circle venue will also house the EVF training space that has become so popular with East Siders, featuring CrossFit and strength/cardio classes. Row House/EVF Columbus Circle is located at 555 W 59th Street, (between 10th and 11th Avenues). 212-757-6035 or visit

Rowing has long been recognized as the best form of full-body exercise, so the idea of giving the erg an image makeover and redefining its use is brilliant in its simplicity. “The rower is like the redheaded step-child of fitness equipment,” jokes Eric. “But at Row House, we use it to provide a low-impact, overall body workout that’s effective, communal and really, really fun. We’ve taken it out of the dusty corner and put it in the spotlight. And then we cranked up the music.”

As an opening weekend special, Row House is offering free demo classes Saturday, March 8, and Sunday, March 9, and a 50% discount for class packages purchased before March 10.

The three signature Row House classes are Full Body Rowing, to train all major muscle groups, Endurance Rowing, reinforcing cardio and flexibility, and Core Rowing, perfecting posture, strength and stability. Get on your erg and row!
